UK Dance Residency (June 22-27, 2024)

UK based Swati Dance Company had invited Hari Krishnan to present a choreographic residency at the beautiful arts space, The Lowry in Manchester, UK. Krishnan worked with artistic director Swati Raut and local UK dancers on unpacking critical issues around form, refining technique and developing a deeper understanding of the choreographic process, including how to conceptualize, structure, and develop new work. Participants explored creative tools, improvisation, narrative building, and compositional methods to generate original choreographic movement material. The residency covered aspects such as music interpretation, spatial design, rhythm, and thematic exploration, where dancers brought clarity and intention to their choreographic voices.
